  • Have completed 119 hrs towards a Bachelor of Science Degree with an emphasis in production and a minor in equine. Production classes include horse, cattle and dairy cattle.  Courses also include farm animal rations, feeding and nutrition as well as courses in agriculture business and farm / ranch management.

  • Have 19 hrs of specialized courses in horse training and horsemanship to include green breaking, camp and recreational horsemanship (Western and English) and management of equine business.

Management & Training​

  • Managed care, feeding, breeding and training of up to 25 head of Registered Paint horses for a private breeder

  • Care and training of approximately 70 horses at the WTSU Horse Center (now WTAMU)

CATTLE

  • Managed several herds of cattle while self-employed as a cowboy checking pasture cattle and doctoring sick head.

  • Located and moved sick or injured cattle to doctor pens at a feedyard

  • Moved cattle from various pens for specific ration plans and shipping

  • Branded, dehorned and vaccinated new cattle by use of squeeze chute

BUSINESS &
ACCOUNTING

  • Responsible for ordering commodities for feed rations at feedyard.

  • Did billing for clients at feedyard.

  • Responsible for daily accounting of State Park Office

  • Prepare daily deposits and daily reports

  • Compute visitation statistics and monetary gain/loss trends on monthly and daily basis

  • Adhere to fiscal control policies set forth by the state and state comptroller's office

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

SPECIAL EXPERIENCES

1 Year: (3 Seasons)

  • Wrangler for "TEXAS" Musical Production

  • Rode for production and taught horsemanship skills to actors.

  • Responsible for hitching and driving horse carriage and surrey.

  • Responsible for traversing to the top of a 600 ft cliff on horseback to herald the opening of the show with a Texas Flag run across the top.
